Teams

Outreach

Thursdays, 5pm pst / 8pm est

This team builds connections across all platforms in order to grow commitment for the General Strike. Tasks include mass texting/emailing new strike card sign-ups, building partnerships with organizations and influencers. The “sorting hat” of the Strike, this group makes contact with new people and plugs them into the Strike ecosystem according to their interests.

Social Media

Mondays, 5pm pst / 8pm est

This team communicates the message of the General Strike online. They spread word, respond to feedback, and invite people into our communities. They are our “megaphone” and keep the conversation alive on their platforms.

Community Support

Sundays, 5pm pst / 8pm est

This team ensures our communities and platforms are working towards the benefit of all people, especially BIPOC, low-income, and disabled people. They moderate our discord, build Mutual Aid partnerships, connect members in need with communities of care. They are the “heart” of the Strike.

Technology

Tuesdays, 5pm pst / 8pm est

This team makes sure all our assets are well-maintained and reflect the General Strike movement. They update our website, make simple websites for partner organizations so that they can host the strike card, improve SEO, and trouble-shoot any issues with the Strike Card. Our “tools.”

Strategy

Wednesdays, 5pm pst / 8pm est

These are our researchers and big pictures thinkers. They are currently working on broad demands, researching how other strikes have operated, and partnering with experts in various fields and geographies to develop research-based plans of action for the General Strike.
